The Cathance River Education Alliance is a non-profit environmental and educational organization co-founded by Highland Green Developer John Wasileski.
Nature and Ecology is the “real thing” at Highland Green. As part of the initial development of the community, a third of Highland Green’s vast 635-acre campus was preserved for permanent conservation through the Brunswick Topsham Land Trust.
The 230-acre Cathance River Nature Preserve abuts the beautiful Cathance River and has five miles of maintained trails. The 30-acre Heath Sanctuary at the very center of Highland Green is a prime bird-watching area.
The Cathance River Education Alliance (CREA) is a not-for-profit organization that maintains the Cathance River Ecology Center, provides nature education and fosters wise use of the Preserve.
Highland Green won a prestigious 50+ Housing Council Award for Best Integration of Nature and Landscaping at the 2014 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.
