The Brunswick Topsham Land Trust was provided a conservation easement on the 230-acre Cathance River Nature Preserve at Highland Green. With an additional 1,900 acres of natural area in the Trust nearby Highland Green, BTLT strives to “preserve, protect and steward the cherished landscapes and rich natural resources of our communities.”
BTLT’s synergistic relationship with the Cathance River Education Alliance and Highland Green Management helps foster wise use of the Preserve at Highland Green, and helps provide trail maintenance, signage, and education.
The three way association also affords Highland Green residents a unique opportunity to enjoy conservation and nature out their back door, volunteer with trail maintenance, become trail ambassadors and more.
