Cathance River Education Alliance

The Cathance River Education Alliance (CREA) was a non-profit environmental and educational organization co-founded by Highland Green Developer John Wasileski and Bowdoin College Professor John Rensenbrink. In order to more effectively and efficiently meet the needs of the community, CREA merged with Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust in 2023.

Today, CREA’s camp and school programs are alive and well, functioning mainly at the Cathance River Ecology Center, a learning center and nature museum. CREA’s programs foster the wise use of the Preserve and, with the Ecology Center as a base, provide nature and science-based education.

The synergistic relationship between Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust, CREA’s programs, and Highland Green Management affords Highland Green residents the unique prospect of enjoying conservation and nature out their back door and participating in environmental education and volunteer opportunities.
