Topsham Public Library Volunteering<\/a><\/p>

Topsham Public Library welcomes volunteers. Information,\u00a0volunteer application form, and volunteer manual are on the web page linked to above. \u00a0Need more information? CREA (Cathance River Education Alliance)<\/a><\/p>

The mission of the Cathance River Education Alliance is to use the natural resources of the Cathance River Preserve to promote ecological awareness and nature-based learning among students, educators, and the public to foster the wise use of the Preserve-and to prepare future stewards of the Cathance River.<\/p>

In 2023, the Cathance River Education Alliance (CREA) merged with the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust (BTLT). CREA’s programs are alive and well! You can find more information at BTLT’s website<\/a>.<\/p>

Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program<\/a><\/p>

The Brunswick area food pantry and soup kitchen provide sustenance for thousands of area residents in need. Find information about volunteering at the food pantry, food bank, and backpack program during the school year, or soup kitchen in Brunswick.<\/p>

Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers<\/a><\/p>

The local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat seeks to provide decent affordable housing for working families through its network of volunteers.<\/p>

Maine Maritime Museum<\/a>
Maine Maritime Museum celebrates Maine\u2019s maritime heritage and culture\u00a0in order to educate\u00a0the community and a worldwide audience about the important role of Maine in regional and\u00a0global maritime activities.<\/p>

The Museum accomplishes this\u00a0through preservation and dissemination of historical materials and information, engaging\u00a0educational programs, relevant and compelling exhibitions, and a unique historic shipyard, all\u00a0connecting the past to contemporary and future issues.<\/p>

Mid Coast Symphony Orchestra<\/a><\/p>

The Mid Coast Symphony is a nonprofit, volunteer, community-based organization that depends on the generosity of orchestra and community members for support. The orchestra plays in the Fall\/Winter performing four concerts in both Lewiston and in Topsham.<\/p>

Midcoast Humane<\/a><\/p>

Since their founding 65 years ago, Midcoast Humane has cared for and adopted out tens of thousands of animals, and each one is spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, tested, and ready for a new home.<\/p>

Located in Brunswick, they have a number of programs and services committed to compassionate care and excellent animal placements, returning lost animals to their families, providing support and resources for pet owners, and educating the community.<\/p>

American Red Cross of Northern New England<\/a><\/p>

The Mid Coast Maine chapter is located right across the road at 16 Community Way. The American Red Cross exists to provide compassionate care to those in need. Their network of generous donors, volunteers and employees share a mission of preventing and relieving suffering, here at home and around the world.<\/p>

Hospice\u00a0Volunteer Services\u00a0of CHANS Home Health Care<\/a><\/p>

This website provides specific information about the Volunteer Services available and information about becoming a volunteer at the CHANS Home Health Care. To volunteer or learn more about volunteering, please call the Coordinator of Volunteer Services at (207) 721-1271.<\/p>

People Plus<\/a><\/p>

People Plus Center in Brunswick supports an engaged, healthy, and independent life for older adults and teenagers, while joining others to build community for all ages.<\/p>

There are many types of volunteer opportunities including driving, Teen Center Mentor, Cooking and Events volunteers, office work and teaching classes.<\/p>

Midcoast Literacy<\/a><\/p>

Needs volunteer tutors, and people to hep in the office or with events. Midcoast Literacy is located at 34 Wing Farm Parkway, Bath; Contact the volunteer coordinator at 443-6384. They provide services for Sagadahoc County, which includes Topsham.<\/p>

Merrymeeting Adult Education<\/a><\/p>

Needs volunteers to <\/i><\/b>tutor adults in English and\/or Math. MAE is located at 35 Republic Avenue, Topsham; Contact the volunteer coordinator at 729-7323.<\/p>

The American Cancer Society<\/a><\/p>

Needs volunteers for a variety of tasks, such as office work, mailings, driving patients to appointments, assisting with the annual cancer conference in Augusta, social advocacy, and more.\u00a0Volunteer Sign-up<\/a><\/p>

Alzheimer\u2019s Association of Maine<\/a><\/p>

Advocate, join a Memory Walk, take a caregiver\u2019s class or donate money. The Alzheimer\u2019s Association, Maine Chapter counts on volunteers to help them achieve their vision of creating a world without Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/p>

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens<\/a><\/p>

Volunteer, become a member, or support them with admission fees to visit the beautiful gardens in Boothbay.\u00a0 Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens comprises 270 acres of tidal shore land and welcomes more than 100,000 guests throughout the year.<\/p>

Mid Coast Hospital Volunteer Opportunities<\/a><\/p>

As a volunteer, you can provide a wonderful service to your community hospital while making new friends, meeting new people, learning new skills, developing new interests, and educating you and your family about healthcare opportunities close to your home.
